My label provider implements IFigureProvider and returns custom figures.
If I select a node in the graph, then the highlight color is requested from the label provider, but the graph does not seem to use it.

Do I have to do something special when providing own figures?

There was a recent contribution by Simon Templer that fixes highlighting of custom figures, see bug 335136 and his sample snippet.
