I'm trying to add a result set data in a text element like in http://download.eclipse.org/birt/downloads/examples/reports/DynamicText/DynamicText.html sample, but I can't see the "this report's data sets" folder, although I have more than one data set in the dat explorer view.

That video is from an older version of BIRT. You should see in the
expression builder an entry for Available Column Bindings that allows
you to choose which columns are available.

I see this if I use expression builder with a data item
index.php/fa/6795/0/

but i see this if I use expression builder with a test item

index.php/fa/6796/0/



So I can use data items, but not use dynamic text

OK, that's the problem, the text item was out of a table
