Unnecessary cast diagnosis [message #77662] Fri, 18 July 2003 06:44
Eclipse UserFriend
In 3.0-milestone-2 build, one can enable the new compiler diagnosis for
unnecessary cast/instance (preferences>Java>Compiler>Unused Code>Unnecessary
type check).

As raised in this PR(https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=40421 -
Unnecessary cast warning...true but... ), the diagnosis is accurate but
sometimes it could be made more tolerant, in presence of null casts. If you
have an opinion, please add your comment in the PR directly.
