Aggregation in Papyrus [message #765310] Tue, 13 December 2011 15:19 Go to next message

I am using Papyrus bundle with Eclipse Indigo.

I thought of using aggregation edges (the edge with a hollow diamond head) for supporting "has a" relationship between classes.

I just realised that there is no aggregation or composition edges within the Papyrus class diagram palette.

Am I missing something here or is it the case that Papyrus currently does not provide support for aggregation edges?

I am wondering whether any one came across this earlier and has suggestions on this.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards

Hi Hemanth,

aggregation, association and composition are features of the properties,
which take part in the association as associatio ends, and is called
AggregationKind.

AggregationKind is an enumeration with the following literals none (normal
association,), shared (hollow diamond), composite (black diamond).

When selecting an association in the properties view of Papyrus, you can
modify the respective association ends including configuring one end to
"shared" (in your case).

Furthermore, you can customize the palette to provide associations that have
a pre-configured aggregation kind.

HTH,

Marc-Florian
