Is there any way to remove table columns at runtime? [message #76497]

I was hoping that there would be a visibility attribute for table columns.
It does not look like there is. In certain cases i need to remove certain
columns depending on input parameters. I could probably transform the
..rptdesign file to remove the columns, but i was wondering if anyone had any
other suggestions? Can it be done from scripting in the report? Can
someone point me to the correct API to inspect and edit a table?
