As far as I know, the RAP UICallback mechanism is based on the long poll idea, which could result in extra network traffic. I'm wondering is that possible to implement UICallback with HTML5 WebSocket?

Hi,

thanks for bringing this up. Using WebSockets for the UICallback is
certainly worth exploring.
We would of course have to fall back to the current mechanism if client
and/or server don't support WebSockets.
Would you mind to open a bugzilla to describe the problem and gather input?
Having said that I am not sure when there are free resources to actually
investigate this. Maybe this could be a topic for a thesis or a GSoC.
