Hello,

I want to do the following:
I profile my application using the Agent Controller in Standalone mode
(that is, "headless") - this produces a *.trcxml file, containing the
<TRACE>.

Now I wonder how to translate this into a *.xml format useable in BIRT
reports. Since I want to do this all from within ANT, I can't simply use
the "Export..." action from TPTP....

Perhaps there's a xslt somewhere, but I can't find it ?

thanks in advance
Florian

As far as I know, the BIRT reports are generated from the TPTP model and
not the trace file. I opened this enhancement
(https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=126435) a while ago so that
users could generate BIRT reports from trace files rather than from the
model. I'll inform the developer responsible for BIRT reports about this
posting and hope he can shed some more light on this.

I think an XSLT that converts TPTP trace files into XHTML/HTML/BIRT would
be really helpful. If you end up writing this please consider donating it
to TPTP.

Yes Navid is right. The BIRT reports are generated from the TPTP
model and not the trace files. Unfortunately, the XML export
mechanism is tightly coupled to the ui. The work involved in
enhancement 126435 would require the export mechanism to move out of
the UI so that the trace model can be exported to CSV, XML or HTML.

At the moment the only thing that can be done is to write a XSLT file.
