Hi!

I guess I'm not the only one wondering why there sign of life for this project.
Who is the project leader? Who's in charge?

Hi all,

As far as I know, when the project was kicked off Genuitec ( the makers
of My Eclipse Ide http://www.myeclipseide.com/ ) were going to be
heavily involved in development.

There were assurances from Genuitec in this newsgroup they would handle
the project appropriately. Someone did raise a point about conflicting
interests (ie developing an os/free product while selling a commercial
version) which they did address citing other companies doing the same
(eg sun with netbeans/forte).

It is however disappointing no information on progress has been posted,
and concerns about the lack of leadership remain unaddressed.

Although I do not blame Genuitec solely, since there are many members in
charter, I do think they could at least respond and let us all know
their current position.

So, who is this so called comittee???? in any case, we could post a msg to a
higher level list....

Project Management Committee
The Eclipse Web Tools Platform Project is managed by a small group known as
the Eclipse Web Tools Platform Project Management Committee [Web Tools PMC].

The Eclipse Web Tools Platform PMC is responsible for the strategic
direction and success of the Web Tools Platform Project. This governing and
advisory body is expected to ensure the project's welfare and guide its
overall direction. The PMC is responsible for overall development direction,
conflict resolution, development processes and infrastructure, and the
overall technical success of the project.

SolarEclipse web and CVS could be used for all developments until
official Eclipse PMC will decide something. Actually SolarEclipse was
created for the same purpuse as current Eclipse WebTools project two
years ago after some talkings in eclipse.tools newsgroup. I am owner of
the project and I am always on line - if you have something to
contribute - just tell me... SolarEclipse licensing is completely equal
to Eclipse, i.e. it is CPL 1.0, so no problem with future moving it to
official Eclipse WebTools project.
