Creating your own Launch configuration [message #697229]

Hi people!
I'm trying to create a launch configuration that launches a specific application with certain parameters and input from an editor i created.
I saw an example here: http://www.eclipse.org/articles/Article-Launch-Framework/launch.html
Explaining it for java applet , but what if I have an executable A (exe or whatever) that I'm interested in running and piping to it the contents of one of the editors?
What's the 'correct' way of doing that while keeping in mind that i'm interested in getting this application output (stderr) showing in the console view?
