Removing margin (whitespace) between table cells [message #658791] Wed, 09 March 2011 14:23 Go to next message

Does anyone know how to remove the margin between borders in a table's row cells? I have a report (17 inches wide) with 32 columns. In the BIRT designer I've set the margin to 0; yet, there is (at least) several pixels of white space between each cell when viewed as HTML. And this whitespace seems to be expanded even further when displayed as PDF. This report already exists in a client/server app so the users are accustomed to a certain look. From BIRT, it just doesn't look as neat and compact. Thus the question.

FYI - I'm using BIRT 2.3.2

Thanks for any help.

Have you set the padding to 0 on the cell and the data items? Look at
the properties view which will have the padding entry.

Jason,

Thanks so much for your help. I had set the padding for the content to 0; however, I was unaware that the cell had a padding as well. I've learned something. I mistakenly assumed the content's padding affected the <td> padding as well which is why I was focusing on the margin attribute.

Thanks again.
