Hello Guys,
Any plans about upgrading to Qooxdoo 1.3 or 1.2.2?

The new version of Qooxdoo has HtmlArea widget which can probably be used to implement StyledText.

No. We decided to maintain a stripped-down client on our own and won't
upgrade to any new qooxdoo version. We decided to go that path because we
want to provide a very lightweight client that is tailored for RAP.

Thanks for the pointer. This will be interesting to look at. However, I
think the challenge of a StyledText implementation is the complexity of
the SWT widget and setting up an efficient client-server-synchronization
in RWT. There are plans to start a StyledText implementation in the RAP
Incubator and I hope we'll see some first results this year!

Thanks for the reply. I have guessed the first one pretty much looking at the forums and source code, but I had to ask.

Yes, a StyledText widget will be a great addition. I would love to try the incubator version as soon as it is available.
