Hi,
I just completed the Getting Started with UML2 Tutorial and am surprised
of how complicated the UML is inside. I´ll have to deal with the UML
some near time in the future (I already have nightmares and when I wake
up I shout: "Ecore!Ecore!") and need something much more specific than
e.g. Fowlers UML Distilled and hopefully something a little less
specific than the official OMG Specs. Does anyone have the book that I
might need?

hi,
assuming you are german or at least german speaking, I could recommend
"UML 2 glasklar" (3rd Ed. www.uml-glasklar.com). It is mainly useful for
understanding the diagram types from a user (modeler) perspective. For
metamodel and implementation issues I'm also stuck with the
documentation found in the Eclipse wikis and other websites.

Felix,
I had that same nightmare, but in mine it was XML Schema that was
threating to overwhelm me! The specification, in printed form, was
sitting on my chest and I felt like I couldn't breathe... :-P

Hi Felix,
Ha ha, .. one of the better books I've come across is ISBN: 0-596-00982-8
"Learning UML 2.0" by O'Reilly press. (with a picture of a Gorilla and
Gorilla baby on cover ... how can you not love gorilla babies).
