Although I suspect this is a question specific to UML2 Tools, did you try:
- Select the message, then start typing.
- Select the message, then from the toolbar, select "All Connector Labels"
or "No Connector Labels" to hide or show all labels associated with
connectors.

I tried those things - no luck. I'm pretty sure it's because my message is
between two lifelines. Looking at the OMG spec it looks like messages need
to go between actions.

But you can see from my other post that just drawing an action throws
exceptions.

Hi,

Im having that same problem with not being able to add text/label to the message line on a sequence diagram. Did you manage to find out how to do it?

I am having the same issue, as well.

It should would be nice if someone from the development team could speak to this!
