I recently started working with Visual Editor and SWT/GEF and so far it is great, I can't wait for my client to see their new java GUI, however I am having a problem getting controls on one view to have effect on another view. For example, if you take the Rich Client tutorial, http://www.eclipse.org/articles/Article-RCP-3/tutorial3.html
and remove the tree from the NavigationView.java (left pane) and replace it with a button, then on View.java (right pane) put a table. I would like the button to change the data on the table. Now, of course what I want to do is more complicated but that's pretty much the jist of it. I have gone through the tutorial on IBM's site, http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/library/os-ecllink/ind ex.html but I can't make it work when applied to my application. I also can't make their example run because I get an Application ID error when I try and include the org.eclipse.jface.text plugin as a dependency, but thats a whole nother issue. I would rather figure this one out. So if someone can point me to an example app that does something similar, with a button and 2 View's that would be great!

thanks,
Chad

This is more of an RCP question than a VE question. So you should try
over on the eclipse.platform.rcp newsgroup.
