less than a year planned to implementation so rapid, parallel, iterative
development was a necessity.
I would like to contribute as a practitioner of the processes (from the
theory to the practical implementations) as well as an Eclipse / Java
developer.

Terry,
it is great that you are interested, and welcome to the team. We have had
little of a slow start, but the project is starting to move forward. We
should have the IBM donation posted any day now (we will post a message when
that happens). Some things I recommend you to do:
1) Check out http://www.eclipse.org/epf/ for what has happened so far, a
couple of meetings, etc.
2) Sign up to the mailing list,
http://dev.eclipse.org/mailman/listinfo/epf-dev. It may take a few days
before everybody has converted from various homegrown distriubution list to
this one, which is the official means of communication moving forward.
3) Committer / working meetings:
We plan to have a European meeting in Bilbao, Spain in first half of March.
Pls let me know if you are interested (where are you located?)
We plan to have a committer meeting in California in Conjunction with
EclipseCon 2006 week of March 20.
Details for these meetings will be posted as we finalize them.
4) The most important for us is to have people sign up to work on specific
things, such as "I would love to add some guidelines on these 3 topics to
BUP" or similar. The more specific the better. You may want to look through
the demos we have to understand what is there, and get a feel for what
excites you to work on.
