Extending Association with Profile [message #471639] |

Hi,
Firstly, I am using a lightweight extension profile for UML. I wish to
create a n-ary multi-navigable association with endpoints to the same
types, including a stereotype extension to a package. I tried extending
Association first, but this doesn't allow me to associate the endpoint
with a package. I also tried a DirectedRelationship - this would be
perfect but the problem is I can't instantiate it in the UML editor
because it is abstract, so I can't apply a stereotype with it. Does
anyone have any suggestions of any other constructs that may help or
know how to do this?
Thanks,
ac

Hi Andrew,
How about a Dependency? It's tough to say whether using an association in
some cases and other form of directed relationship in others cases makes
more sense than always using a dependency without understanding the problem
you are trying to solve.
