Question on Marker [message #47842] |

This is probably my inexperience with this functionality, but while using
Eclipse with Mylyn active and working on some code, I notice there was
what looks like some form of bookmark showing on the left. When cursor
was over it, it mentions that it is a Mylar "Marker" (I'm not sure of the
"Marker" string as I can not replicate it at the moment).
I have used Mylar with some of the bug finding capabilies so I was
thinking maybe it had somethig to do with this, but was not sure.
In addition, clicking it seems to provide no tips or actions possible with
this other then the tooltip showing the above mentioned string.
What is this item, what does it do, and how does one configure it?
Thanks ahead of time.

All that those markers are supposed to do is indicate that something is
very interesting (i.e. bold in the Package Explorer). But I see how
this can be confusing. Please file a bug on this and we could consider
giving the marker an action.

I am seeing it with Mylyn 2.3.0. The marker is on the first line of my
class declaration, and the pop-up text for the marker says "Mylyn Landmark."

I'm not sure whether it's supposed to do anything when you click on it. I
tried, and it didn't do anything. I don't see it in the Bookmarks view, but
I'm not sure whether I'm supposed to.
I see that I have a couple of errors in my log that indicate something like
this, but I don't know for sure whether that was from an attempt to access
the Mylyn marker or not.
Error
Thu May 01 10:18:48 EDT 2008
Marker id 2678 not found.
An exception stack trace is not available.
