 Hi guys,

it's me with yet another question ;-)

I want to customize the repository settings dialog in my connector in
such a way that i uses a 'user key' for authentication instead of a
username/password combination. As far as I can see there is only
createAdditionalControls() available for extension but no 'proper' way
to achieve what I want. Can you give me any advice on how to do this best?

 Thanks a lot!

 Hi Steffen,

ok I'll do that. Basically we just use for all external applications
(like mylyn) accessing our api a user key to authenticate the user
(instead of username/password). If needed the username can be retrieved
via an api call, so there is no need to force the user to enter this.

this use case has not come up, yet. All existing connectors use username and
password authentication. It would be great if you could file a new bug
report and outline your requirements for the authentication API and user
 interface extensibility:
