Would EPF be a good tool for creating standard operating procedures
(SOP's)? We currently have an non-interactive word document describing
things such as:

Clarity Application, Creating a User Account:
1. User/Manager requests account
1.1. complete document "Account Request Form.doc"
1.2. send document to admin@myapp.com
2. Admin obtains Manager's authorization for Account
3. Admin creates account
3.1. setup account details
3.2. setup security permissions
4. Admin notifies user of account details

It appears to me that EPF would provide a much richer experience for
documenting these processes. Am I completely off-mark here?
Any feedback appreciated...

Hello Christopher.
I think you are spot on. EPFC can be used to represent all kinds of
processes. It has been used already to represent many different kinds such
as organizational change management (SOA governance,
http://www-306.ibm.com/software/solutions/soa/gov/lifecycle/), investment
clubs (money-lover.us), electrical engineering, as well as related to your
examples below, IT service management and governance. Check out the Tivoli
Unified Process as an example (see a demo here
http://www-306.ibm.com/software/tivoli/governance/serviceman agement/itup/tool.html).

It has occured to me also that this tool could be used to define methods and
processes outside the realm of software development.
I do not think the authors of the tool intended it for that use, but a
tool's a tool.
And if a tool meets a need, and meets it well, why not use it?
