My experiences relate to implementing a launch configuration that
permitted DTMF input to a voice modem via the VTP's VoiceXML Browser
Input view. I decided to build a modem dialer as I work with IVR
systems over the internal and PSTN phone systems and wished for a plugin
that would behave in a similar manner to the Skype dialer.
The first problem was finding the extension points I needed to use and
the interfaces that required implementing. This took a long time as I
was working through the Tell Me example looking for hints. What I
really needed was a document that would show me which interfaces I had
to implement and how the resulting objects interacted.
Once I got my launch configuration to show in the drop down it was
fairly easy to see how input from the DTMF buttons was passed into my
code, but I couldn't work out how to terminate a launch and had to post
to this group. Again, this turned out to be quite straight forward and
could be covered in a short Eclipse Corner article.
Overall my experience with extending the VTP is very positive, but there
is a requirement for more "How to do it" guides.
