We are writing plugins for Rational XDE. It has a number of JAR files that need
to be added to the classpath.
My design is to create a classpathContainer that holds all these JAR files, and
give it the name "XDE". I have written a containerInitializer and a container.
One problem is that they are never invoked. I am working in the PDE, and I am
debugging against a totally empty workspace. I launch the debug session, and in
the runtime WB I create a Java project.
The Java preferences of the runtime WB never show the variable XDE.
I added code in the startup() of my plugin, to force the initialization of my
classpath container for all Java projects at startup. I also added a resource
listener, that looks at all new projects, and forces the same initialization.
However, my real initializer never gets called. And, even when I force the
initialization, my variable does not show up in the Java preferences for
classpath of the runtime WB.
There is something that I am missing, but I cannot discern what it is. Help!
Thanks
John

John,
I know I told you to append to this newsgroup in reply to your Sametime
msg, but had I just assumed it was a Visual Editor problem. I'm a VE
developer, not a JDT developer. :-( This question needs to be asked in
the eclipse.tools.jdt newsgroup. That is where JDT developers hang out.
