We did it. The eclipse.org website now has a fresh look-and-feel, and
we've paved the way for better content structure and improved
ease-of-use. A big Thanks to everyone who participated:
- the folks who e-mailed us to tell us our old site sucked in the first
place. You all got the ball rolling.
- the hired guns who worked hard to organize our content and help design
our CSS and XHTML, despite the fact that we changed our minds a million
times
- the community, who designed the templates, those who voted for their
favorite, and who provided valuable feedback as we moved forward.
- the Phoenix committers who had to put up with a web project led by a
geek SysAdmin and an Illustrious Executive Director
There is still plenty of work to do on the website, in terms of
usability, structure and user-friendliness, so the party has just
begun.... But for now...

Hi,
Congratulation in general to the new L&F. Looks nice (though I almost
thought, I clicked wrong, when I first saw it compared to the day before
;-)
It seems to blend in with a kind of CI, that Eclipse 3.1 and especially
3.1.1 as well as 3.2 (previews) also use compared to previous releases.
One problem is, that the "portlets" (I call it so, cause I am used to
developing portlets myself, regardless of what system you actually use
?;-) at least in the "Eclipse In The News" section do not work yet.
When you click the link in them, you just get an empty popup window that
says "about:blank", lik the homepage for the browser set to empty or none.
I don't think, it is only our browsers or firewall/proxy causing problems.
And the old version worked fine. Searching for the terms (like JAX 2006)
you also find the old (PHP) versions in the Eclipse site. And those links
there work.
Other than that I wish you the best in continuing to implement that new
L&F in all parts of the eclipse.org web site (e.g. also the news)
