Synchronization problems with Tasks, Role Descriptors and CVS [message #53604] |

Hi,
I have set up my project for use with CVS using the EPF CVS guidelines and
it kinda works (except I have to Share the project again each time I
restart EPF! When I do a synchronize, all my elements are given a pencil
icon (non-synchronized?) only those I edit in this session gets the
databse (synchronized) icon. Hmmm...
I defined a capability pattern. Created some activities. Added some tasks.
These tasks all have the same Roles assigned, however when I create the
corressponding Task Descriptors, linked to these Tasks only a few of the
TDs get corresponding Role Descriptors transferred. For the other tasks, I
can not by any means create Role Descriptors for some odd reason. All my
TDS are set to be "synchronized with source". Any idea what could be wrong?
If I delete a Task Descriptor and try to add it again (using drag and drop
from Navigator into Activity) I am unable to. It does NOT register at all.
Could be a CVS issue!? I am lost here...
If I drag'n drop any Task into my Capability pattern, Im told it is not
part of my default configuration of my proces. What does this mean?

How do you create task descriptors first time thru DND or manually
creating in activity and then linking to task. If you DND task into
activity/cap pattern it should bring it's roles/wps creating corresponding
descriptors assuming it's in configuration. If those roles/wps are not in
configuration, it wont' bring it along. You can add those roles/wps for
the process' default configuration if you need it. Synchronization also
works on the default configuration. By default, all descriptors have
"Synchronized with source" selected, that's coming from meta-model because
we defined it that way.
You can check whether you can reproduce any of these without CVS to see
whether CVS is causing this or not.

It turned out, that my configuration .xmi file had ditched the first part
of its GUID for some odd reason! All my references to my configuration
were thus invalid and hence I coulds add Role Descriptors as no Roles were
part of my default UNRESOLVED plugin. Still, I don't understand why I must
manually add Role Descriptors for Each Task Descriptor. Why not by default
inherit those defined for the Task?
