Agent Controller and TPTP [message #53213]

Hi,

I've just installed TPTP 4.1.0. (eclipse 3.1.2 on Mac OSX 10.4.4 using
Java 1.5.0_05-83)

Trying to follow the Tutorial: Analyzing profiling data.

1) My Profiling Monitor view does not look like in the example. Mine
only contain a flat list of my projects. No "hierarchies" of any kind.

2) Step 22 in the tutorial - press "Profile". Profiling does not start.
I get an error message: "Connection failed on host localhost. Reason:
IWAT0284E The agent controller is not available on host localhost..."

Have looked around a bit regarding previous problems with the Agent
Controller, but did not find anything useful.

What can I try?

Just learned that TPTO is not supported on Mac.

Any suggestions on what I can use instead? I'd like to profile some
maths code for speed/time.

Note that there is an enhancement opened for supporting the TPTP profiler
on Mac OS. The feature is marked as helpwanted and we're welcoming any
help.
