How to run JavaFX plugin? [message #271695] Mon, 22 June 2009 19:29 Go to next message

I'm trying to install the JavaFX plugin. I have installed JavaFX. Now it
wants the JavaFX Editor!

Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be
found.
Software currently installed: JavaFX Feature 1.0.1
(com.sun.javafx.eclipse.feature.feature.group 1.0.1)
Missing requirement: JavaFX Editor 1.0.1 (com.sun.javafx.eclipse.editor
1.0.1) requires 'bundle org.eclipse.wst.common.snippets 0.0.0' but it could
not be found
Cannot satisfy dependency: From: JavaFX Feature 1.0.1
(com.sun.javafx.eclipse.feature.feature.group 1.0.1) To:
com.sun.javafx.eclipse.editor [1.0.1]

So I did a google search and found

http://download.java.net/general/javafx/eclipse/

and downloaded a zip file.

What do I do with this zip file? I tried to install it as a local plugin or
archve but the latest eclipse would not recognize it.

Thanks,
Siegfried

I realize that this topic is old, but I found a solution that works for me and just had to share. All I did was run eclipse as root (super user) and everything worked perfectly. Hope it works for anyone reading this Very Happy .
