UML-Profile -> Xtext Grammar [message #487480] Wed, 23 September 2009 07:48 Go to next message

Hi,

I am thinking about how to generate a Xtext grammar from an UML profile. I wonder, whether you have any idea or some example to start from?

Thanks,
ILyas

Hi Ilyas,

I'm not aware of such an example but I'ld try to go with a m2t
transformation and generate the grammar as plain text from the profile
model.

Sebastian

What kind of m2t transformation would that be? can you elaborate a bit? what would be the source of the transformation? The whole UML Metamodel or the UML Profile? or both?

I have a similar problem where I have a UML profile and need to generate Xtext grammar from this.

Was also thinking if there is a way to get an ecore that will contain both the UML Metamodel plus my profile and then generate the xtext grammar from the ecore file but I am not sure if there is a way to do that.
If you know anything more please share. Shocked
