Exporting a product based on features [message #461179]

Hi,

My RCP application consists of 6 plugins. I created a feature project
and added the 6 plugins to be packaged with the feature. Then I created
a product configuration based on features and added my feature project
to it. When I export the product, I only see my feature and the 6
plugins exported. The depended plugins (eclipse plugins) are not exported.

When I export the product based on plugins, I see all the required
plugins also exported.

Is this is a bug or am I doing something wrong.

You must add other features to your product. Either require some of the
basic eclipse/RCP features, or create your own RCP lib feature with the
smallest amount of plugins that you need.

When I add RCP feature to the included features, I get an error while
exporting.

"Unable to find org.eclispse.osgi_3.2.1R32x_v20060619"

Hi,

This problem occurs only when I have the RCP patch installed. Looks like
the RCP patch feature installs a newer version of osgi bundle, but the
RCP feature requires org.eclispse.osgi_3.2.1R32x_v20060619. Even though
both bundles are available, some how the export does not seem to find
the required one.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this. Is this a bug in the export wizard?

I seem to recall that the extra _ in the osgi bundle has caused some headaches along the lines; this may be an example of it in action. I seem to recall that it was fixed for the 3.2.2 release which isn't out yet, so your choices are to run with the older feature version for 3.2.0 or wait to see if 3.2.2 fixes the problem.

Yes, but (a) I believe that 3.2.2 solved the problem, and (b) you are just as capable of searching bugs.eclipse.org as I am to find the problem. I don't have the ID to hand.
