from BNF to metamodel [message #45428] Tue, 26 May 2009 13:25 Go to next message

Hi,
would u help me find the steps to get the appropriate metamodel from a
given BNF grammar and its OCL constraints of the Eclipse's xtext;
otherwise, is there another tool to get the same result?
Then, once i find the first metamodel i want to apply the QVT to have the
next metamodel ,so how can i do so?
PS:The main problem is that i have already down loaded the Eclipse and the
xtext program but i couldn't use it
here is the BNF grammar which i want to use
BNF grammar:

Thank u for helping me out :)

Hi Farah,

I don't understand your question. What do you mean by "I downloaded
Xtext but couldn't use it"?

You have to port your existing EBNF to Xtext (most likely by hand) and
generate a metamodel for it. That's the way to go to get the appropriate
metamodel.

Hi Farah,

sorry, I didn't get your point. What do you mean, when you want to
translate your BNF without facing any errors or warnings?

As I already mentioned, you'll have to do it the hard way and translate
your ADA BNF to Xtext yourself.
Actually warnings and errors are quite helpful when you are using the
grammar editor, as the indicate problems with your grammar.
