How to create a editor for a new perspective [message #449166] Wed, 10 May 2006 15:28 Go to next message

Hi,

I am new to RCP stuff, I am wondering how I can create a editor in a new perspective I created using minimal amount of code?

I used the following sample code:
http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/FAQ_How_do_I_create_my_own _editor%3F

but it does not work at all.

Unfortunately, that doesn't mean anything ... it doesn't work when you
what? Double click on a file? Call IDE#openEditor(*)? What action
were you using to try and open your editor?

So that code looks fine ...

1) does icons/sample.gif actually exist? it won't work well if it doesn't

2) Then you have to double click on file.min in the resource navigator
or package explorer.

Later,
