Changing splash.bmp [message #448267] |

Using Eclipse 3.2M5 on Windows, I can build an executable specifying a
splash.bmp, which appears on startup.
I'd like to modify the splash.bmp with each new release of the main
application plugin, so that we can show the release name and number.
However, modifying the splash.bmp and re-releasing the plugin doesn't
work - the original splash.bmp is shown.
(A bit of detective work shows that the splash.bmp is being cached in
the configuration/org.eclipse.osgi directory. I have not been able to
determine how it gets in there.)
Is there a "right" way to update the displayed splash screen? I am
loathe to have my application code delete files from the configuration
directory.
