How to connect to a Trac repository on https [message #37673]

I have problems connecting to a Trac repository through Mylyn. The
repository is hosted on a https server

https://some.url/repo/projectName

When I use the browser to login, it redirects me to another web page where
credentials are verified through a form..

https://webaccess.psu.edu/........................

It then redirects me back to the original URL. I can't seem to get the
Trac connector in Mylyn to handle this. Any thoughts?

I found the following explanation but it didnt make much sense to me.

From a quick glance at the documentation it seems that the authentication
status is saved in a cookie? This type of form-based authentication is
currently not supported by the Trac connector. Please go ahead and file a
bug report and provide as much detail about the authentication mechanism as
you can:
