Does anyone know how to wire up an existing project (that's not set up
as a "Dynamic Web Project") with the Tomcat support? I can't do it.
Seems you have to throw away your current project, completely redo your
cvs structure, create a "Dynamic Web Project", etc., to use the IBM
server support. Obviously, even if I liked the canned structure, I
can't do that.

Sysdeo.com's Tomcat plugin, lean and capable, seems to have figured out
exactly how to do this, if you need a hint.

No suggestions? Is it not possible to use the IBM Tomcat server support
without starting a project from scratch and using only the canned
project structure? Or what?

why dont you try this. first, create a 'dummy' dynamic web project. and
then, copy ".*" files(such as .project and .classpath and etc.) to your
'existing' project. then 'f5' to refresh the 'existing project' and
bring a project properties(alt+enter) dialog of it, and fix whatever broken.

i hope this will work.

Yippee. I didn't do exactly what you suggest. I had previously looked
at the various .xxxxx config files, tried merging in a few things. But
that didn't work. But your note encouraged me to do it again. The
magic things are:

the WebNature item in .project
the .websettings directory with obvious changes

That did it. Thanks!

(Obviously a UI to do this simple stuff is required.)
