Hi,
I need help with the following (I am using BIRT 2.1):

- How to have "grid" type tables i.e. by default, if we have tables in our
report, they dont have the "grid lines" on the columns and rows. Eg the
table in Microsoft Word. I tried defining the style for the column with
the borders but it doesnt work. My table has a border though

- How to specify the margins/padding between the columns. I have two
columns (column A is right aligned and co B is left aligned. As a result,
these two columns appear close together. I want to put some space between
them

Thanks a lot!

The first problem is caused by wrong target element selection. You should
select Cell element rather than Data element, which can be easily done
through the outline view. In the same way, you can set the margin and
padding style in Box item of the style editor.
