Strange install/update behavior [message #332578] Wed, 29 October 2008 14:48 Go to next message

I just asked the install wizard to install TPTP 4.5.0.

The install progress dialog indicates that it's downloading everything
from ALL versions of TPTP. Is this normal?

Also, it seems to be completely updating my Ganymede installation even
though I didn't ask for it to. Is this normal also?

If TPTP 4.5.0 specifies that it requires new versions of other features
(inlcuding core platform stuff), then the update will try to update them
in order to satisfy those requirements. I'm pretty sure that it would
have shown you the list of things it was going to install after it has
resolved the necessary dependencies, you would have clicked OK in
response to a list of features and versions that were to be installed.
