CPU Spike when editing [message #32093] Wed, 27 June 2007 17:24 Go to next message

Hello all,

I recently started to use Eclipse with PDT to create php scripts, but
while editing a file (new or old), my cpu usage goes up dramatically from
15% to around 90%. After I stop editing, it goes back down to 15%. I'm
using Eclipse 3.2 with the latest version of PDT.

Anyone know how to solve this?

Thanks
-Tanner

How big is the file you are working on?

The specific file I notice it on is 5.3KB. I watched the cpu usage on a
file which is 317 bytes and don't notice a thing of increase.

Thanks

Well....that's a little smaller than I expected. In my case, Eclipse will go bonkers when the file is like several tousand lines long. I didn't write it...just maintaining it :)

I'm also having this problem. I tried doing an upgrade to Eclipse 3.3 and
PDT 1.0 M1 but that did not resolve the problem.

The file I'm working with at the moment is only 9112 bytes.

This is a seriously annoying issue.
