Updating in a runtime-workbench? [message #307420] Wed, 23 August 2006 09:51
Eclipse UserFriend
Hi all,
thanks for the interest...

The situation is as follows:
I am working on an update site from which my colleagues will be able to
update the plugins I am developing. So I have some features and I have
created the update site. Everything works fine.

Now it comes to maintaining this site. I would like to start an eclipse,
update from the site and check if every plugin is really downloaded or
update.

So I thought it is reasonable to start a runtime-workbench and use the
"Find and Install..." tool to install the features from the update site in
this runtime-workbench. Does this make sense?

In the runtime workbench I go to "Help -> Software Updates -> Find and
Install" and I check my site. The features that can be installed are shown
but when I click on one (or any) of the features the following error
massage is shown in the dialog:
"CDO Server (1.0.0.v200606271248) requires feature "org.eclipse.net4j
(1.0.0)", or compatible."
Well here I am selecting one of the features from my update site. But the
same error applies for selecting and emf features or any other.

Is it possible to run the update from a runtime-workbench?
