Setting baseTOCS doesn't change TOC order [message #304614] Mon, 12 June 2006 16:32 Go to next message

I'm trying to force book order in Infocenter TOC, but setting baseTOCS
doesn't have any effect. What am I missing here? (Examples: a topic that
starts with a "Z" appears at the TOP of the list--even though it's listed
last in the baseTOCS list; the topics that I leave OFF the list still
show-up in the TOC--this is contrary to what the help instructions state
that the baseTOCS variable is supposed to do). Can someone lend me a hand
here? Thanks. TR

Try without the space and the backslash.
BTW, is your doc plug-in ID really "org.eclipse.help.toc"?

Thanks Toni! I'll give it a try. And no, those plugin names are just
examples, actually each of my help docs are in folders, so it would look
something like cost/cost.xml (where cost.xml is the TOC file).

Figured it out--I had to create jar files for each topic vs just leaving
the help content in folders. Seems baseTOCS recognizes a jar file name,
not a folder name. Once I rolled-up all the folders into separate jar
files, then set baseTOCS, the order was set as I wanted it. Thanks for
responding. Todd
