Problems with CVS Watch/Edit [message #303831] Wed, 24 May 2006 04:36 Go to next message

Hi,

i currently have a problem with cvs projects which have files with cvs
watch enabled and files which do not have cvs watch enabled.

In the projet properties configuration the watch/edit mode is disabled
because i only want to use watch/edit for some files.

If i update these files via CVS Synchronization, Eclipse sends a watch
notification to the server and the menu entries "edit" and "unedit" are
disabled. To disable the edit mode of the updated files i have to send a
unedit notfication with another cvs client.

If i enable the watch edit mode for the whole project everything works
fine with the restriction that i only want to use the watch/edit feature
for files which are managed by CVS in the binary mode.

In older versions of Eclipse it was possible to use projects with files
with watch enabled and disabled.

Is the described behaviour of Eclipse correct? Does anybody have an idea
how to work with cvs projects with files with and without watch enabled?

Thanks in advance
Jan
