After making some changes to my User Libraries and restarting Eclipse, I
suddenly noticed that my projects are no longer connected to SVN. I've
tried everything I can think of to reconnect these projects, but nothing

I'm using the Native JavaHL connector (1.4.5), and 'Enable automatic
project share' is selected. I have tried restarting Eclipse and
closing/re-opening the project with no joy, even though all the .svn
folders still exist. I also use TortoiseSVN in Windows Explorer, and this
tool still works fine with my project (so I don't believe the .svn
meta-data is corrupted).

I have also tried 'Team -> Share project...' however the I don't get the
option to 'use existing project settings', it just leads me through the
wizard as if I want to create a new project in the svn repo. My first
thought was that my Repo Location had disappeared, but I've checked the
Repository Exploring perspective, and my locations are still there.

I have around 20 projects in my workspace. Ones that were using the User
Library that I changed HAVE been disconnected from SVN, the ones that
aren't using that User Library are connected with no problem. The User
Library itself contains no SVN related jars at all. Clearly it seems that
this change is related, but I have no idea why it should be.

When I click 'Team -> Share project...' could someone explain the *exact*
criteria that Subversive uses to decide whether it will show the option
'use existing svn settings' ??

this might fix the problem. The process failed with the many instances of
the error 'Cannot remap connected projects'.

So, Subversive *is* recognising this project as connected (in some way,
shape or form).

It looks like you used SVN client of 1.5 version outside Eclipse IDE. This
client silently performed conversion of a project working copies into the
SVN 1.5 compatible format which could not be read by SVN 1.4 compatible
clients (like you use in IDE). In order to avoid the issue you can:
1) recheckout these projects with SVN 1.4 compatible client
2) select SVN 1.5 compatible client in IDE.

In the second case you need to install corresponding connectors first from
the Subversive connectors update site.

Thanks Alexander! You've hit the nail on the head I think. I now remember
updating TortoiseSVN recently to 1.5.1.

I'll give the new connector a go.
