| How to run latest nightly? [message #29278] | Fri, 15 June 2007 16:18 | |
| Eclipse User | | | | | I'm sure this is a dumb question, but I've downloaded the latest nightly and extracted it into my eclipse 3.2.2. It's complaining about needing WST 2.0.0. I've searched for it, but can't find it. Is this something that's only available in the 3.3 release of Eclipse? Is it safe to run the latest nightly on the 3.3 release?
 Any pointers would be appreciated.

 Regards,

 Adam.

I downloaded and installed Eclipse 3.3R4 and installed the WST 2.0.0 from the Europa repository. After that, I installed the latest nightly of the PDT, which was not from the remote site but from the .zip file. After that, everything came up correctly. Subclipse also worked after I installed it, so that was a plus.

All in all, it's working, though syntax checking seems to be busted (who needs that? we all write perfect code, right? :)

I believe the Remote Archive url will only install the 0.7 releases, and not the 1.0.0 releases. YMMV.

 Eclipse 3.3R4 (from the .tar.gz)
 PDT 1.0.0 (N20070614)
 Ubuntu Linux 7.04
 JRE 1.6

Yes - I found out as well that the Update Manager has some weird
internal logic... So when PDT complains about something - I just get the
..zip and unzip it in eclipse/.

 All fine so far.

And yeah - I'm would be happy if the syntax checking is busted... Spent
many hours in the past to try to switch it off ;)
