This is a way off the wall question, so please feel free to point me to
another place to find the information...

What is the policy regarding licensing the use of the Eclipse logo? As I
mentioned in an earlier post, I'm about to release a book, Eclipse: Step by
Step, which provides a detailed introduction to Eclipse, the JDT and SWT,
and we wanted to use the Eclipse logo on the cover graphic. Does anybody
know who I would contact to see if that's possible?

Hello Joe

There is no specific policy regarding the use of the logo. The logo is made
available under the terms of the CPL which grants you rights to use the
license just as you would the Eclipse source code with terms and conditions
applying as you interpret them. If you wish to modify the logo in any way,
it's probably best not to use it in a way that suggests that you represent
the Eclipse.org Consortium Members or Host of the web site and best not to
use it in any defamatory manner.

That helps a lot, Adrian. This is pretty much what I figured. We're not
planning to modify the logo, or to defame anyone <grin>. We'll be certain
to attribute the logo to the Eclipse.org Consortium.

I was thinking that the one from the splash screen was pretty good, but I'll
leave that up to the cover art folks.
