Eclipse UserFriend
when i click the Help menu select the help contents menu item, it
shows
me the error page.
here is the error message:
502 Proxy Error. The ISA Server denied the specified Uniform Resource
Locator (URL). (12202)
i can surf web, use msn messenger ...
i could view help content before.
the only change i guess is that our company changed firewall software from
ISA2000 to ISA2004,and i changed the client to Microsoft Firewall
Client for ISA 2004.

does anyone know the reason?

I heard of someone experiencing the same problem ... apparently the ISA
server is misconfigured and doesn't allow access to 127.0.0.1 (I know
this sounds *VERY* weird). Apparently, to access the local machine the
request goes out to the ISA server which OKs it or not. In you case not.

You can test if this is the case by disconnecting your machine from the
network and trying again. In the case I heard of, the person was then
able to access the help system.

Hope this helps,
Evan

The last time I used a proxy server, there was an option in the browser
configuration for addresses that are not proxied.

Firefox has an option in the proxy configuration:

No Proxy for: localhost, 127.0.0.1

You have probably misconfigured this. Your network admin
may have also misconfigured his setup.

Have you tried using the help system when disconected from the LAN?
That way you can tell for sure if it is a proxy problem (if you aren't
connected to the internet then the proxy can't block anything).

Also, the time I encountered this behavior, the help system was
accessible in one browser (FireFox) but not in another (IE). Have you
tried various browsers?

i works now after i unchecked "Automatically detect settings" & "Use
automatic configuration script" options. :)
these two options are checked by MS FireWall for ISA2004 by default.
thanks for your reply :)
