eclipse ganymede have problem with large file [message #271082] Tue, 26 May 2009 04:31 Go to next message

I am using Ubuntu 8.10 and Eclipse Ganymede 3.4.1
When I open a large C file (> 16000 line), it can not display hightlight,
color, ... and the Outline functionality does not work, too.

But with 15000 line C file, it is OK.

How can i solve this problem ?.

If you open your error log (window->show view->error log) do you see any
errors related to this? This might be a problem with the CDT, you can
check on the CDT newsgroup to see if this is a known problem.

You might also want to check this with Eclipse 3.5:

http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?file=/technolo gy/epp/downloads/release/galileo/RC1/eclipse-cpp-galileo-RC1 -linux-gtk.tar.gz

Eclipse 3.5 is still in Beta and due out in about a month. However, the
builds are pretty stable.

Best of luck,
Ian

Thanks Mr. Ian

I check again and find out that my eclipse is "Eclipse Platform" version
3.4.1. (I do not know what difference between "Eclipse Ganymede" and
"Eclipse Platform"). So I can not do as your hint, but when I updated CDT,
deleted project and imported again, it is OK now although it shows a
strange error when importing, hihi.
