Hello,
had a hard time today trying logging in the sourceforge CVS server via SSL.
Eclipse Version:
Version: 3.1.0
Build id: 200408122000
Platform: WinXP
SDK: 1.5 (beta)
First I tried with pserver: no problems with viewing, but I couldn't
commit anything because I don't have the add-right.
Tried following manuals and tips:
http://www.gnegg.ch/archives/eclipse_cvs_and_putty.html
http://krook.net/os/eclipse-cvs-setup.txt
http://www.stefanheimann.net/documentation/sf-cvs.php
A bug is reported here:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=21180
No result.
I tried using PuTTy and Pageant:
1. Generated a public & private key.
2. Updated key in pageant.
3. Logged on to shell.sf.net with PuTTy.
4. Opened eclipse and connted with ext mode while giving the arguments
{host} -l {user}
I also tried {user}@{host} -pw Password
Also I tried using WinCVS and got the following:
############################################################
cvs -z3 -d:ext:nnai@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/myproject co myproject
***** CVS exited normally with code 1 *****

I too can't get ssh2 to work internally to Eclipse, though I have no
problem using external putty.

Thanks for the response.
I logged on the shell.sf.net succesfully. Pageant handled my password
without any problems after it got my key from puttygen.
Then I gave eclipse a pointer to plink.exe
This is one the errors I got:
###################################
I/O has been interrupted.
The most likely cause of the interrupt is either an intermittent
network failure or a communications timeout.
The CVS communications timeout can be adjusted in the Team/CVS
preferences.
Another possible cause is the improper configuration of the "ext"
connection method.
The "ext" connection method can be configured on the Team/CVS/EXT
Connection Method preference page
###################################
Next I will try conntecting with eclipse 2.1
