How to "reset" eclipse installation [message #269933] Fri, 03 September 2004 04:06 Go to next message

Hello,

I'm using Eclipse 3.0 under Linux with Sun JDK 1.4.2_04. It's been working
just fine for long time, but today something caused it to crash. Now it
starts, but when I try to anything (including exit) it hangs. It uses 100%
of CPU and does nothing.

Is there any way to "reset" Eclipse, short from "re-install everything".
Any files I could remove, etc?

Well, there are two things involved here: your workspace and the
install. Most settings are stored in your workspace hence you could
first try to install a new version of Eclipse (into a new folder) and
launch your existing workspace (use -data). If this doesn't help check
whether there's something in your workspace/.metadata.log file.
