Ganymede Ant error "Build failed. Reason: Unable to find an Ant file to run." [message #265781] Fri, 24 October 2008 06:18 Go to next message

I've just installed Ganymede and got the error while trying to run ant
build. I have project with build.xml which works on the Europe without any
problems. But when I try to run ant build on this project in Ganymede it
fails with the error above. I googled the problem but found nothing. The
interest fact is that Ant does work correctly if I run Ant Build from the
menu Run->External Tools-><the name of ant configuration>. But if I try to
run ant from any other context (by key shortcut for example) it fails.
Could anybody help me pls to solve this problem?! thanks in advance.

After you run it from 'external tools', does the keybinding work?

No. :(
I also tried to switch some settings in the ant build configuration (for
example to point the build.xml file directly by entering the path of it on
the disk, etc) but got the same result.

I've checked this on diferent PC's, diferent installations of the Ganymede
and got the same result. This looks like stable bug for ganymede using PDT.

Hello, If you open the build.xml file in the editor the Ant task works
correctly, otherwise they say that can't execute the selected file.

I am experiencing this problem as well currently.

I am using JBoss Developer Studio Version: 2.0.0.CR2 and this is happening
in multiple worksspaces on different Java projects.

I am able to exec the target directly by double-clicking on it in Ant
perspective, however the "ALT-SHFT-D, O" hot key gives this error
described in the thread by original poster.

Any fix for this?? Very annoying.
