Sorting crosstab by non-group attribute [message #263253] Thu, 13 December 2007 20:02 Go to next message

Hi All,

I need to sort a crosstab (each level) by an attribute that is not the
group by attribute. I've tried adding an "Attribute" in the group level
edit box, but that doesn't help. (There is no doco on what the
"Attribute(s)" in the group level editor do... any ideas?

Cheers,

Ashley Cambrell

I'm confused with your description. Do you mean that you want to sort a
group level with its attribute?
How did you add the sort key in ther Property Editor?

Hi Ashiley

Please use the latest BIRT2.3.0 build, You can specify a sorting key using
the expression builder and specify the attribute's expression like
dimension["Group"]["Level"]["Attr"] as your sorting key.

Best regards!

Sweet, I'll give it a try.

Is that the purpose of the Create Attribute in the Group Level edit dialog?

Thanks Tianli
