include path problem [message #259047] Mon, 23 June 2008 14:20 Go to next message

The projects in my workspace just all the sudden made up a bunch of
include paths to add to themselves. These paths are things like
"/mingw/include..."; one for each c:\mingw\... path that was there before.

I've searched and searched for information on this but anyone else
asking anything remotely similar never got an answer.

I can't make them go away, there's no place that will allow it. The
"Delete" button is grayed out everywhere and the right click on the
project does nothing in the includes area.

I've tried to turn off discovery options. I even restarted eclipse
after doing so. That did nothing.

I'm working on a windows system and so obviously the "/mingw/" paths are
completely bogus. They also just suddenly appeared when they were not
there before. Where are these coming from, how can I get rid of them,
and how do I gain control over what is in the includes in my project? I
like to compile without warnings but until I can get eclipse to let ME
control what it does I cannot do that.

Thanks.

This is regarding C++ using the CDT.

I was wrong about this being new behavior. These include paths existed
before but worked because eclipse and mingw happened to be on the same
drive. But what if I want it on a different drive??

I would still like control over these values. I can't imagine why
eclipse would have built-in values for include path that you can't
modify...for exactly the reason I'm experiencing.

hehehe - I'm wrong AGAIN. I just built the project and eclipse added
two more include paths! These paths are the same as two others that
already exist in that project. More warnings.

This is annoying.

I suggest posting the issue on the eclipse.tools.cdt newsgroup, as the
CDT gurus don't always notice questions posted to this group.
