Don't believe everything you're told. Measurements you do yourself speak
louder than words spoken by others. Besides, what specifically is
supposed to perform well?

Yes, it's easy to write an abomination in any language using any framework.

There are issues like development complexity to factor into the costs as
well. Not to mention support and responsiveness to fixing bugs.

I'll be curious if anyone has factual data for comparing the two.
Typically folks compare .NET and Java, not .NET and RCP. I suspect
there's more FUD than real data out there. Perhaps you'd like to try
quickly generating an RCP application as a point of comparison for
gathering your own facts:
