Help wth Excel Export issue [message #255670] Mon, 17 September 2007 17:25 Go to next message
Eclipse UserFriend
Hi Group,
In BIRT , sometimes I am getting Style Error when performing Excel Export.
This happens because of various reasons including data in the report.
However, whenever this happens after that all subsequent excel export
fails (even if they have correct data and should not produce Style error).
In order to solve this issue, everytime this situation occurs, we need to
restart BIRT.
Is there any way that I do not have to restart BIRT if excel export gives
style error for a particular report so that other users can continue
working with excel export without waiting for the server to restart .

Thanks.

Hi,
I met your same problem with "Style error", but it never occurred to me
that to restart the server.
I posted already a question about that. My post is "problem exporting
XLS with styles".

I hadn't solved my problem. Simply i noticed that removing all my styles
from the library, that style error doesn't occur and export is successful.
I think it's a CSS-library problem. I am waiting for 2.2.1 of BIRT
expected for 28th September 2007 to try if this problem has been solved.

Bye
Nicola

No solution, but I get the same error:

The error:
XML ERROR in Style
REASON: Bad Value
FILE: C:\temp\ChartsWithDrilldown.xls
GROUP: Style
TAG: Font
ATTRIB: FontName
VALUE: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif

If I change the .xls file to have font of just "sans-serif" then I don't get
the error and can open the document. Does anyone know if there's a bug open
for this yet?

Thanks, Dan
